The Clarissa Manuel Foundation is a public non-profit institution focused on preventing the further deterioration of the community through educational and enrichment programs. The foundation is named in honor of Clarissa Manuel (1952-2009) who is a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a Silver Life Member of the NAACP. She was instrumental in pledging her life to improving services offered through Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Treatment Centers, Infant Health Programs, AIDS Awareness and Preventative Measures and Physical and Mental Health Services within the community.
The Clarissa Manuel Foundation offers scholarships in the areas of Nursing and Business.
Within our community, The Clarissa Manuel Foundation works to support 4 initiatives that impact Health, Homelessness, Finance and Education.
To achieve this purpose, our nonprofit foundation implements its programs and raises funds by building relationships with influential people, and organizations to assist in fund-raising events as well as seeking funding from grants and other sources. The foundation also utilizes the services of volunteers to help execute on fundraising initiatives and community service projects.
