YCMF is a program initiative created for youth in our community ages 11-18, under the theme Building a Solid Foundation for the Future. This program will provide youth with opportunities that promote personal growth and academic achievement through participating in various activities and workshops.
The Young Cultivated Minds of the Future’s Youth Space Jam is a secure online space created for African American and Black high school students living or going to school in the City of Long Beach and surrounding areas. Each session will meet at 6:00 pm, the 3rdThursday of each month, from February 2021 through June of 2021. The Youth Space Jam was created to provide a safe space during Covid-19 for youth to enjoy music, express their feelings and share their talents, while being provided opportunity, exposure, and resources that will lead to higher education or livable wage jobs following High School. Under adult and professional guidance, the program content will be created by youth for youth to help youth cope with the loneliness, isolation, and stress of distance learning created by stay-at-home orders during the pandemic.
